Monaco Attends the 6th Conference of Ministers and Senior Officials Responsible for Physical Education and Sport
H.E. Ms. Yvette Lambin-Berti, Ambassador, Permanent Delegate of Monaco to UNESCO, represented the Prince's Government at the 6th International Conference of Ministers and Senior Officials Responsible for Physical Education and Sport (MINEPS VI), held in Kazan, Russian Federation, from 13 to 15 July 2017.
More than 1,000 participants gathered at this event to discuss the role sport should play in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set out in Agenda 2030, sharing a common vision of sport for all that is inclusive and ethical.
By adopting the Kazan Plan of Action, a consensual text that combines the main principles of the Berlin Declaration of 2013 and the International Charter of Physical Education, Physical Activity and Sport (2015), MINEPS VI represents a decisive milestone for the future and place of sport by 2030.
The Kazan Action Plan, which was designed for policymakers, is a road map with the aim of facilitating actions with measureable results in the field of sport, linked to the achievement of several SDGs.
The results of this Conference are fully in line with the actions supported by H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince to defend the multidimensional values of sport as a means of promoting education, health, development and peace.
