Diplomacy: Accreditation of Ambassadors from Bahrain – Antigua and Barbuda – Panama – Bosnia and Herzegovina
On Thursday 28 February 2019, at a lunch held at the Hotel Hermitage, Ms Isabelle Rosabrunetto, Director General of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, received H.E. Dr Muhammad Abdul Ghaffar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Bahrain, H.E. Dr Dario Item, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Antigua and Barbuda, H.E. Mr José A. Fabrega Roux, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Panama, and H.E. Mr Kemal Muftic, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who presented their credentials to H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince during the morning.
H.E. Dr Muhammad Abdul Ghaffar joined the diplomatic corps in 1975 and has served as Bahrain’s Ambassador to the United States, Canada, Argentina, Belgium and Luxembourg. In 2009, he became Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Bahrain Centre for Strategic, International and Energy Studies, and was appointed as an Advisor for Diplomatic Affairs to His Majesty the King of Bahrain.
A law and political science graduate, H.E. Dr Dario Item holds a master’s degree in law (LL.M.) and a PhD in criminal law. He has authored a number of specialist publications in these fields. Dr Item joined Antigua and Barbuda’s diplomatic corps in 2016. Since his appointment as an Ambassador, he has represented his country in Spain and Liechtenstein.
H.E. M. José A. Fabrega Roux had a long career at ExxonMobil, where his roles included CEO of Esso Antilles-Guyane, Senior Planning Advisor for Latin America, Lead Country Manager for Spain, and Transition Manager for Australia, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. In 2012, he was appointed General Manager and CEO of the Hopsa Group in Panama.
Formerly a journalist for the daily newspaper Oslobodjenje, H.E. Mr Kemal Muftic was appointed Political and Media Advisor to the President of the Federal Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He joined the Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2006 and, since his appointment as an Ambassador, has represented his country in India, Denmark and Iran.
