159th Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) General Assembly
On 15 June 2016, H.E. Mr Claude Cottalorda, Monaco’s Ambassador to France, took part in the 159th Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) General Assembly. He was accompanied by Mr Julien Cellario, Executive Director of Monaco Inter Expo, and Mr Frédéric Labarrere, First Counsellor at the Embassy.
In his capacity as Chair of the Information and Communication Committee, H.E. Mr Cottalorda presented a report on the work of the committee to the General Assembly.
Representatives of the 2016 Horticultural Exposition in Antalya and the Triennale di Milano 2016 then shared their satisfaction with the organisation of these events.
With regard to future exhibitions, representatives from the Astana International Exhibition 2017, the 2019 Horticultural Exposition in Beijing and the Dubai 2020 Universal Exposition gave an update on progress with regard to their respective projects.
The General Assembly also provided an opportunity for the Polish city of Lodz to announce its candidacy to host an international exhibition in 2022.
