Pierre of Monaco Foundation - Press release n°5 - The Principality's Prize To be awarded jointly by the Monaco Philosophical Meetings and the Prince Pierre of Monaco Foundation on Tuesday 15 October 2019

When creating the Monaco Philosophical Meetings back in 2015, the Founding Members had envisaged awarding a Prize not just for a single work, but for philosophical work that had been developed over a long period of time, making its author known and recognised at both the national and international levels.  This idea never left them.  Thus, the 2018 Principality's Prize was awarded to Jean-Luc Marion for all of his philosophical, linguistic and political writings.  From then on, it would become a tradition.

The Founding Members of the Monaco Philosophical Meetings and the Prince Pierre Foundation jointly undertake to award this prize each year to an author in recognition of his or her entire philosophical work.  In this way, tribute is paid to a lifetime of philosophical writing, to outstanding work that has opened up new paths in the field of philosophy and taken different approaches to science, politics, theology, history, anthropology, ethics or psychoanalysis.

The 2019 Principality's Prize will be awarded to the candidate chosen by the Founding Members.  It will be jointly presented by the Philosophical Meetings and the Prince Pierre of Monaco Foundation at the Prince Pierre Foundation's prize announcement ceremony.

The Prince Pierre Foundation winners will be announced on Tuesday 15 October 2019, at 8 p.m., in the Salle Garnier (admission free subject to the availability of seats).
