MonacoTech Celebrates its First Year of Existence

MonacoTech, a start-up programme created by the Monegasque State in partnership with Monaco Telecom and Xavier Niel and officially inaugurated by H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince, is now an integral part of the local economic landscape.

MonacoTech supports innovative companies or projects by companies with high growth potential to be established in the Principality over the long term, so they can benefit fully from the Monegasque ecosystem while being in line with Monaco's vision and strategy.

The positioning chosen is based on several key principles:  high selectivity, high standards, an attractive, high-end and collaborative environment, customised follow-up and a constant challenge for entrepreneurs.

After just over one year of existence, MonacoTech has launched three calls for applications, in June and September 2017 and April 2018, a total of more than 230 applications from 30 or so countries.  Twenty-four start-ups have been assisted and 16 are still in the programme.

The sectors represented are varied (cleantech, fintech, medtech, smart city, yachting, storage, the space industry, events, etc.) and are all relevant for development in the Principality.  Since the launch of MonacoTech, 26 jobs have been created in Monaco (excluding work experience trainees).
