Department of Public Works
Role
The Department of Public Works represents the public Contracting Authority as regards State property transactions, public works and facilities infrastructures. In this regard, it prepares public works contracts. It manages 90 % of the State budget for public works.
Such works include the construction of new residential buildings, industrial facilities and office space, public institutions, schools, hospitals, and civil engineering work such as car parks, tunnels, bridges etc.
Those in contact with the Department of Public Works mainly include contractors and others involved in construction (architects, design offices, inspection consultants, etc.).
