Ms Sophie Thévenoux, Ambassador and Special Advisor for Negotiations with the European Union, has been appointed to the position of Director of the AMSF. She will take up post on 29 January to head the independent administrative authority, recently established to replace the Service d'Information et de Contrôle des Circuits Financiers (SICCFIN) and continue efforts to fight money laundering, terrorist financing, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and corruption.

Ms Thévenoux brings her recognised skills and extensive experience in economics and finance to the process of launching the AMSF. Recruitment is currently underway for a new Director who will take over next spring.

Ms Thévenoux has held important positions within the Monegasque government at the Department of Budget and Treasury from 1995 to 2005 and later at the Ministry of Finance and Economy before becoming Minister of Finance and Economy in 2009.

Since 2011 she has served as Ambassador in a variety of posts, including in France and the European Union. Her resulting knowledge of international organisations and command of diplomatic relations will therefore serve as valuable tools in her new missions.
