Jean Castellini meets Larvotto business owners
Minister of Finance and Economy Jean Castellini, accompanied by Director of the State Property Authority Rémy Rolland and Olivier Damour from the Department of Public Works, paid a visit to Larvotto today to meet the business owners who have vacated their shops and restaurants to allow the redevelopment work to take place.
“My aim in coming here is to show the extent of the Government’s interest in Larvotto’s business owners and in the comprehensive redevelopment project being carried out here. I have to commend the spirit with which everyone has entered into discussions, including with the State Property Authority, on planning for this period of closure and setting rates of compensation in line with turnover,” Mr Castellini said.
The Minister also talked about the need to improve the area: “Today, a new era is opening up, offering a tremendous opportunity to redevelop this complex and bring it into line with leading international standards. An outstanding offshore urban development project is currently under construction, and it makes sense to extend this by completely renovating Larvotto.”
