The Principality takes part in a Club des Chefs des Chefs event in Washington DC
From 29 October to 2 November 2023, the exclusive “Club des Chefs des Chefs”, composed of the personal chefs of heads of State or royalty, founded by Gilles Bragard in 1977, held its annual summit in Washington DC. Under the chairmanship of Christian Garcia, the Executive Chef of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, the event was organised in collaboration with Monaco’s Embassy in the United States and with support from the French and Italian Ambassadors, who held a reception in their honour at their official residences.
During their stay, the chefs prepared meals for the homeless with DC Central Kitchen, a non-profit organisation that works to fight hunger and poverty. The Chefs des Chefs were invited by the First Lady of the United States to a lunch at the White House, prepared by Executive Chef Cristeta Comerford, and were able to visit the Pentagon and take part in a closing reception at the home of Mr Stanislas Vilgrain, Chief Executive Officer of Cuisine Solutions. Following the reception, the Chefs des Chefs presented Monaco’s Ambassador to the United States, H.E. Ms Maguy Maccario-Doyle, a traditional chef’s coat and an honorary diploma in recognition of her advocacy for culinary diplomacy.
