Role
The main duties of the Housing Department are:
- Enforcement of legislation concerning residential premises built before 1 September 1947
- Managing applications for State housing
- Managing applications for housing benefit

The Division is divided into three areas:
- State Sector residential property
- Rent-controlled housing of private tenure
- Housing allowances
