Reading Marathon - Prince Pierre of Monaco Foundation
The Prince Pierre of Monaco Foundation has just launched its Reading Marathon, organised in connection with the Literary Prizes. This event enables lovers of contemporary literature to have a better knowledge of the authors selected by the Literary Council for the 2017 Literary Prize and Discovery Grant.
At its meeting on 10 May 2017, the Literary Council shortlisted the following writers for the Literary Prize:
Annie Ernaux
Maurizio Serra
Michel Tremblay
The following authors have also been shortlisted for the Discovery Grant, a prize awarded to a French-speaking author for a first work of fiction:

Frédéric Gros, Possédées (Possessed) - Albin Michel, August 2016
Néhémy Pierre-Dahomey, Rapatriés (Repatriated) - Seuil, January 2017
Blandine Rinkel, L’abandon des pretentions (Abandoning Pretensions) - Fayard, January 2017
All these works are available in libraries in Monaco and the Côte d'Azur that are taking part in the Reading Marathon from 21 June to 1 September 2017.
Pupils from a Year 9 class and a Year 8 class from the Collège Charles III will also take part in the Marathon, guided by their Literature teachers.
The Prince Pierre Foundation Prizes will be announced on Thursday 5 October 2017.
