Rémy Rolland, Director-General of the Ministry of Finance and Economy, on behalf of the Minister of Finance and Economy, visited the newly renovated Palais de La Scala Post Office in Monte-Carlo on Thursday 28 September at the end of the day.  He was accompanied by Ms Lara Terlizzi-Enza, Director of the Stamp Issuing Office, Mr Antony de Sevelinges, Head of the Monaco Public Buildings Maintenance Office, Mr Frank Feurra, Director of Monaco Post Office, and by high-profile Monegasques.

Renovations involved a 230 square-metre area that includes the customer reception and service counter areas, to improve lighting, acoustics and optimise the ergonomics of the service area. The La Scala Post Office now has a fully revamped reception desk in addition to a service counter for people with limited mobility. The office now has automatic doors to facilitate access to all customers.

A complete overhaul of the office’s layout considerably improved both the customer service area and that used by Monaco Post Office employees. The Post Office’s largest location, Palais de la Scala welcomes an average of 250 customers per day.

On average, the Monaco Post Office receives 25,000 letters and 2,500 parcels daily for distribution in the Principality. Conversely, 16,000 products (letters, parcels, fast-delivery items combined) are processed every day from Monaco.
