Grand Prix 2016 : raising pleasure boat owners' awareness of Monegasque Maritime Regulations
On the occasion of the Formula 1 Grand Prix and in view of the unusually high number of boats in its waters, the Department of Maritime Affairs (DAM) is taking preventative action with regard to navigational safety and the protection of the marine environment. This action is aimed in particular at pleasure craft anchored in the vicinity of Monaco's ports.
A flyer produced by the DAM is distributed each year prior to two major events in the Principality – the Grand Prix, in May, followed by the Monaco Yacht Show in September.
The DAM distributes this document on board ships, with the help of the Ports Operating Company (Société d’Exploitation des Ports de Monaco) and the Marine and Airport Police.
The document, in two languages (French and English) is provided to both local pleasure boat owners and owners of ships anchored in the neighbouring French waters, whom the DAM also hopes to inform of Monegasque maritime regulations.
