EXPO 2020 DUBAI - Presentation of Monaco's Pavilion
On Wednesday 27 February, in the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II and Sheikh Abdallah Ben Zayed Al Nahhyan, the Pavilion that will showcase the Principality of Monaco at the next World Expo in Dubai in 2020 was presented by H.E. Ms. Mireille Pettiti, President of Monaco Inter Expo and Albert Croesi, General Commissioner of Monaco's Pavilion in Dubai. The general theme of the Expo is "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future!"
Monaco's Pavilion will be on the theme of "Monaco 360°, a World of Opportunities." It will occupy an area of 1,700 m2 and has been designed to surprise and fascinate visitors. It will be built by Olivier Deverini, in association with the OOS agency, and run by Facts & Fictions. The Pavilion will have a polygonal shape to symbolise all the different facets of Monaco, in particular the Sovereign Prince's commitment to protecting the environment.
Thus, the Pavilion will be fitted with photovoltaic panels, making it self-sufficient in energy; it will also be equipped with a grey water recycling plant.
At the entrance to the Pavilion, visitors will be greeted by a large pictorial fresco on the history of Monaco. They will then enter the "Garden of Opportunities, " comprised of six different sections: art and culture, science and research, Monaco Explorations, protection of the oceans and biodiversity, the urban offshore extension and innovation and technology. In the centre of the garden there will be a kaleidoscope, to immerse the public in the atmosphere of the Principality in a 360° experience!
To bring the project to life during this 173-day World Expo, the following entities have confirmed their participation: the Prince Albert II Foundation, the Princess Charlene Foundation, the Monegasque Olympic Committee, the Monaco Scientific Centre, the Oceanographic Museum, Monaco Economic Board, Monaco Tourist and Convention Authority, the Mission for Energy Transition, the Delegation for Digital Transition, the Monaco Cyber Security Agency, Monaco Tech, Monaco Brands and Monaco City Hall!
Note also that a group of high school pupils from the FANB will present a project entitled "The School of Tomorrow," and that Monaco Inter Expo will be launching job offers for young students who would like to enjoy an unforgettable experience by taking part in this exceptional event for six months!
In this respect, the clothing range to be worn by the Pavilion staff will be designed by Ms. Pauline Ducruet.
Finally, Monaco's National Day will be celebrated on Wednesday 13 November 2020.
