Cooperation in the Field of Healthcare A Malian Doctor and a Nurse Anaesthetist are Being Trained at the CHPG
As part of a partnership between the Princess Grace Hospital (CHPG) and the Department of International Cooperation, a Malian cardiologist and a nurse anaesthetist are currently being trained in Monaco.
Dr. Mamadou Diakite, a hospital cardiologist from Bamako, came to update his knowledge of the management of cardiac disorders with Professor Nadir Saoudi. Mr. Minkoro Traore, a nurse anaesthetist at the Sikasso Hospital, is taking an advanced training course in anaesthesia and resuscitation with Professor Isabelle Rouquette-Vincenti.
This cooperation programme was initiated in 2010. Its main aim is to build hospital partnerships with public health institutions in the partner countries of Monaco's Official Development Assistance.
A total of eight trainees were hosted by the CHPG in 2018.
At the end of their training, those involved undertake to return to the hospital in their home country for a period of four years and train the staff there in situ by passing on the knowledge they have acquired.
It should also be noted that, every year, doctors from the CHPG undertake missions in partner countries, where they carry out needs assessments, provide treatment and run training courses locally.
