The Committee for Graduate Employment at the Service of Young People in Monaco

Yesterday, in connection with the Committee for Graduate Employment (Commission d’Insertion des Diplômés) (C.I.D.), H.E. the Minister of State, at his residence, was host to business heads who have signed the protocol agreement on entry into employment for young Monegasque and resident graduates.  Also present were Government Ministers, the Executive Unit of the Committee for Graduate Employment and young graduates who have found employment thanks to the C.I.D., as well as celebrities from the world of politics, economics and social affairs.

The Committee for Graduate Employment was founded in 2010 by the Prince's Government in line with the wishes of H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince to keep the intellectual wealth of young people in the Principality and enable graduates working abroad to return to Monaco, if they so wish.

The role of the Executive Unit, which is under the authority of Stéphane Valeri, Minister of Health and Social Affairs, and led by Ms. Maryse Battaglia, is to support young Monegasque graduates and graduates who are denizens of the Principality, build bridges and make valuable contacts with businesses with the aim of giving these graduates access to suitable private employment opportunities in Monaco.

In his speech, H.E. the Minister of State warmly thanked the representatives of the 134 companies who had helped to make this partnership to assist young people a reality.  He also paid tribute to the high-quality work undertaken by the Executive Unit, which, six years after it was first established, is showing very positive results:

  • 840 young graduates have been given individualised interviews, enabling them to benefit from this support immediately or at the end of their training
  • 203 graduates, 100 of whom are Monegasque nationals, have obtained employment corresponding to their qualifications
  • 143 graduates have benefitted from work experience required by their training course.
  • Finally, 160 young graduates have met with professionals, receiving valuable advice on various specialisations during their university studies.

H.E. Mr. Serge Telle recalled the necessity of acting at an early stage to give graduates better access to employment.  In this respect, on 2 February 2016, the Committee for Graduate Employment organised the 5th  "Professional Discovery Afternoon" at the Rainier III Auditorium, aimed at Year 13 pupils from the Principality.  With the support of the Minister of Interior, Patrice Cellario, and in association with the Department of Education, Youth and Sport, this day event covered employment-generating sectors in Monaco – the hotel trade, health, accounting in banks and in accounting firms, yachting, a career as a banking lawyer, informatics linked to new technologies, the Monegasque Civil Service and engineering and construction in the Principality.

Thanks to all these activities, coupled with those of the Employment Office, young people in the Principality have every chance of building a successful future.
