Accompanied by Patrice Cellario, Minister of the Interior, and Isabelle Bonnal, Director of Education, Youth and Sport, Minister of State Serge Telle attended the first day back at school for Year 11 (Seconde) pupils at Lycée Albert I, where he was welcomed by Headmaster Pierre Cellario.

The Minister of State then visited pupils in the general and professional education (special needs) section at Monaco’s Vocational and Catering School, accompanied by Headmaster Jean-Marc Deoriti.

Finally, the Minister was welcomed to Collège Charles III by Principal Cédric Bertrand, with whom he visited a Year 7 (Sixième) special education class.

During his visits, Serge Telle was keen to emphasise the commitment of the Prince’s Government to ensuring that all pupils studying at the Principality’s schools receive individual attention and are supported throughout their education to develop and succeed as far as possible.

This diligence, together with the individualised support mechanisms in place in Monaco’s schools, contributes to the excellence that H.S.H. Prince Albert II wants to see in the country’s education system.

This year, 5,883 pupils returned to school in the Principality, of whom 4,580 are studying in state-run schools and 1,303 in the private sector under contract. Lessons are taught by 492 teachers.
