Final results of 2016 baccalaureate exams: another success

DR

The final results of the baccalaureate are now official: following the second round of examinations, it is clear that this year has seen a repeat of 2015’s exceptional achievements.

Following the second round, 100% of candidates from Lycée Albert I and Lycée François d’Assise-Nicolas Barré were successful in the General Baccalaureate. As previously noted, 202 of the 237 pupils who took the examinations passed with honours.

The pass rate for the Technical Baccalaureate Sciences and Management Technologies and Science and Industry, Sustainable Development options at Lycée Albert I was also 100%, and 52 pupils achieved honours.

Students at Monaco’s Vocational and Catering School also performed extremely well:

  • More than 94% of pupils taking the Hotel and Catering Baccalaureate in Hotel Technology passed their examinations;
  • Pupils enrolled in professional baccalaureates in the hotel, manufacturing and service sectors obtained highly satisfactory and consistent results, achieving a pass rate of almost 98% this year.

 There were also very good results in the Brevet de Technicien Supérieur (BTS) end-of-cycle examinations in 2016:

  • at Lycée Albert I, pupils achieved a 100% pass rate in the Accountancy and Office Management and Assistant Manager options;
  • at Monaco’s Vocational and Catering School, the pass rate for the Hotel Industry option was 92%.

Finally, results for the Diplôme National du Brevet (DNB) were also remarkable, with a pass rate of 98.84% (compared with 97.5% last year), and 310 students achieving honours (compared with 307 last year) – these included 60 highest honours, 111 high honours and 139 honours grades.

The Prince’s Government is delighted with these results, which once again confirm the excellence of the educational provision offered in the Principality, and would like to express its warmest congratulations to all pupils.

The results are also testament to the commitment of the teachers and management teams at the Principality’s schools and staff in the Department of Education, Youth and Sport. The Prince’s Government would like to thank all of these individuals for their effective implementation of the Government’s education policy.
