End-of-year exams 2022-2023: impressive results for the Principality's pupils and students

As in previous years, the Principality’s secondary school pupils and students have obtained very good results in the end-of-year exams for 2022-2023.

Pupils achieved a 98.9% overall pass rate in the Baccalaureate (across all streams), with 79.9% of candidates achieving honours.

Very good results were obtained for Diplôme National du Brevet (DNB) candidates, with 98.7% of pupils passing their examinations and 91.5% achieving honours.

Lastly, results were excellent for the 2023 Brevet de Technicien Supérieur (BTS); all but one of 50 candidates passed the examination.

These figures once again confirm the quality of education offered to pupils and students in the Principality throughout their studies.

With regards to the Baccalaureate:

Concerning the general category, students at Lycée Albert I achieved a pass rate of 100%.

Lycée François d’Assise – Nicolas Barré obtained a pass rate of 98.7%, bringing the overall pass rate to 99.7%, with 83.2% awarded honours as follows:

  • 62 pupils passed with highest honours
  • 114 pupils passed with high honours
  • 87 pupils passed with honours

In the technology category (Lycée Albert I and Lycée Rainier III), all of the pupils passed (100%), with 73.1% awarded honours:

  • 1 pupil passed with highest honours
  • 11 pupils passed with high honours
  • 26 pupils passed with honours

In the professional category (Lycée Rainier III), the pass rate was 95.2%, with 71.4 % awarded honours:

 

  • 4 pupils passed with highest honours
  • 17 pupils passed with high honours
  • 39 pupils passed with honours

Concerning the Diplôme National du Brevet, 98.7% of secondary school pupils at public and private schools operating under contract passed their examinations. The pass rate was 100% for pupils in the general and professional education (special needs) section (SEGPA), with 91.5% awarded honours:

  • 181 pupils passed with highest honours
  • 123 pupils passed with high honours
  • 60 pupils passed with honours

Concerning the 2023 Brevet de Technicien Supérieur (BTS) examinations, the pass rate was 100% for students at Lycée Albert I (BTS Management Accounting and BTS Support for Managerial Activities).

Students in the BTS Hotels and Catering programme at Lycée Rainier III, achieved an overall success rate of 95.5% (across all streams).

At the end of this school year, the Prince’s Government once again sends its warmest congratulations to all pupils and students whose efforts and conscientiousness have now been rewarded by results which once again are a credit to the Principality.

The return to normal examination conditions and the excellent results obtained reflect the Prince’s Government’s education policy. They illustrate the quality of education in the Principality and the unwavering commitment of the teaching community and staff at schools and at the Department of Education, Youth and Sport.
