Seasonal flu: Launch of the vaccination campaign

This fall, the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs has highlighted the importance of getting vaccinated against the seasonal flu.

The vaccine is already available at chemists in the Principality with or without a prescription. People can get vaccinated directly on site or pick up the vaccine and contact their GP or a private nurse to make an appointment for the injection (in their office or at home).

It is also possible to get vaccinated against the flu and COVID-19 at the same time, with a general practitioner or chemist. No contraindications exist for a simultaneous vaccination provided that a different injection site is used.

The Prince’s Government wishes to recall that the seasonal flu vaccine is only effective if administered before the arrival of flu viruses. This vaccination is highly recommended for people considered fragile (the elderly, pregnant women, people with chronic diseases).

The seasonal flu vaccine is fully refunded for people covered by the Principality’s social security funds.
