Chaired by the Minister of Health and Social Affairs, Christophe Robino, the Committee for Graduate Employment (CID) met on Tuesday 11 July 2023 to review its activities and present its annual report for 2022 to its members.

On this occasion, the Minister of Health and Social Affairs wished to recall that: “The Committee for Graduate Employment connects and makes sense of two worlds that do not always speak the same language. The CID fulfils its missions through its presence on the ground, in contact with young people. In a consistently kind approach, it helps young people build future career plans that are compatible not only with their personal goals, but with the needs of local businesses as well.”

The 2022 annual report and the half-year report for 2023 were presented at the meeting.

The Committee for Graduate Employment’s objectives are:

  • To develop links between higher education students and graduates and the business world;
  • To help young graduates enter employment in the public and private sectors;
  • To assist expatriate graduates in returning to the Principality.

The Committee also supports young people as they figure out their path towards employment from secondary school onwards, in parallel with their future plans. The idea is to ensure alignment between young people’s life plans and the expectations of employers in Monaco. It also works with partner companies in their search for young talent.

“Inform, support, listen”

The employment market picked up considerably in 2022, resulting in a significant increase in internships, sandwich placements and first-time job opportunities for young graduates.

Members discussed the arrival of Generation Z and the profound changes it brings to the world of work, through assertiveness and by daring to ask for things their elders generally did not. After focusing its activity on young people and their expectations, the CID will also develop initiatives with companies to help them incorporate the specificities of Generation Z and win over the young talent arriving on the market.

The key theme of the Committee’s activities in 2023-2024 will be “How to make your future career meaningful”. Young people expect certain things in their life at work: they look for companies without a negative impact (on the climate, for example) and which share their values (on gender equality in particular).

For Muriel Bubbio, Technical Advisor for the CID: “The Committee is committed to supporting young people in building future career plans, and to helping companies bring onboard young graduates seeking a meaningful career.”
