Operational exercise by the Police Department
Yesterday morning, at 9 a.m., the Police Department held an operational exercise to test the Principality’s “tightened cordon” plan.
The scenario for the exercise began simply, with the setting off of an alarm at a jeweller’s shop in the Port sector. As the first police officers arrived, and in light of the observations and information they reported, the Central Operations Command activated the Principality’s “tightened cordon” plan. The exercise continued on Avenue Princesse Grace with the interception of a vehicle which had first been chased by Police Department teams.
The aim of the simulation was to test the Principality’s mechanism for setting up a cordon and intercepting vehicles. This type of training ensures that police officers have a good command of security measures, their application and practical implementation.
