Monaco Cyber Sécurité unveiled its private sovereign security operations centre on Thursday 12 October at the Assises de la cybersécurité conference held at the Grimaldi Forum. The new centre is part of the Monegasque government’s digital transformation strategy, which places security at the heart of its development.

Mr Frédéric Genta, Country Chief Officer for Attractiveness and the Digital Transition, said that “security is part of Monaco’s DNA and a key factor in the Principality’s attractiveness. This requirement applies to cybersecurity, which is essential in today’s digital world. Like the Monaco Cyber Security Agency (AMSN), the Sovereign Cloud and the Monegasque digital identity, the Security Operations Centre — the first of its kind in Europe — is a strong asset for the State and local companies.

Mr Frédéric Fautrier, Director of the Monaco Cyber Security Agency, also underscored the need for the Principality to adopt solutions that protect companies and allow them to develop in the best possible conditions. “Allow me to emphasise that this initiative, led by Monaco Cyber Sécurité and SEKOIA.IO, two young companies — one Monegasque, one French — will help enhance the overall level of digital security in Monaco. Both active in the community that processes and responds to IT security incidents, these companies will contribute to maintaining a safer digital environment in the Principality, by using a trusted solution to respond to the challenges we all face on a daily basis”, he added.

A hub for cybersecurity monitoring and intervention, the SOC is tasked with detecting, assessing and processing IT security incidents, in less time.

The services of Monaco Cyber Sécurité’s sovereign SOC are based on two key technologies:

  • Monaco Cloud, the Principality’s sovereign cloud platform, protects customer data. Servers located in Monaco ensure that customer data remains in Monaco, a territory that meets the highest security standards.
  • Sekoia.io offers an eXtended Detection and Response (XDR) platform powered by proprietary cyberthreat intelligence. The Sekoia.io was rolled out in Monaco Cloud environments and allows the SOC-MCS to immediately detect threats thanks to an extensive catalogue of security rules enriched by Monaco Cyber Sécurité teams.

The Monaco Cyber Sécurité SOC offer is a comprehensive and adaptable solution that meets the needs of businesses of all sizes. It offers a range of services and solutions to protect information systems from a wide array of threats. “We are proud to launch our sovereign SOC offer and take part in the government’s strategy to make the Principality a strong and secure digital environment,” said Mr Sébastien Massé, CEO of Monaco Cyber Sécurité. “We want our offer to be a real asset for Monegasque and international companies, allowing them to protect themselves more effectively against cyberattacks”.
