The 2023 U Giru de Natale: disruptions to be expected

The 28th edition of the 'U Giru de Natale' running race (https://ugirudenatale.com), organised by the Association Sportive de la Sûreté Publique (ASSP) will be held on Sunday 10 December from 7am to 12.30pm and will impact the following:

Traffic

On 10 December, the following roads will be closed to traffic:
• Route de la Piscine, Jules Soccal wharf and Quai des États-Unis from 7am to 1.30pm*
• Avenue de la Quarantaine - Tunnel de la Digue (southbound route), Avenue J.F. Kennedy (northbound route), Rue Grimaldi (southbound route)**, Rocher - Antoine Ier Tunnel and Quai Antoine Ier*** from 8am to 12pm;
• Rocher-Albert Ier Tunnel, Boulevard Louis II (southbound route), Avenue du Port, Avenue Princesse Grace (southbound route between the Portier crossroads and No. 39) and Avenue des Spélugues (southbound route) from 9am to 12 pm
• Avenue de la Porte Neuve (southbound route), Boulevard Albert Ier, Serravalle Tunnel, Avenue d'Ostende (southbound route), Avenue de Monte-Carlo, Avenue de la Quarantaine (southbound route), Larvotto slip road (between Boulevard Larvotto and Carrefour du Portier) and Sardanapale slip road from 9.30am to 12pm.

*Motorists will still be able to access the Louis Chiron public car park on an alternating basis at times set by the event organisers.
**Traffic will use the bus lane between the Sainte-Dévote crossroads and the intersection with rue Suffren Reymond.
***A two-way system will be introduced for local residents between numbers 4 and 14.

Manually-operated alternating traffic controls will also be in place on Avenue de la Porte Neuve (northbound route), Avenue de la Quarantaine (northbound route between the access to La Digue and its intersection with Avenue du Port), Avenue de la Quarantaine - Tunnel de la Digue (northbound route), Rue Princesse Antoinette and Rue Louis Notari from 10am to 12pm.

Other arrangements:
• On Avenue du Port, vehicles coming from Rue Saige will be able to travel on the southbound route, under manual control, as far as No. 11 (Fire station) from 10am to 12pm;

• In Rue Suffren Reymond, the one-way traffic system will be reversed from 10am to 12pm;

• On the Place d'Armes roundabout, the direction of traffic will be reversed from 10.30am to 11.30am.

Finally, on Avenue d'Ostende, the lane reserved for public transport will be reserved for southbound traffic, while the central lane will be open to all traffic in the northbound direction from 10am to 12pm.

Vehicle parking

Parking will be prohibited on:
• Quai des États-Unis, Route de la Piscine and Esplanade des Pêcheurs from 11pm on 9 December to 3pm on 10 December
• Jules Soccal wharf on 10 December until 2pm
• Darse Sud until 3pm
• Boulevard Albert Ier from 9 December at 12pm to 10 December at 12pm
• Avenue J.F. Kennedy, Quai Antoine Ier, Rue Grimaldi, Avenue Prince Pierre, Avenue du Port, Avenue de la Quarantaine, Avenue d'Ostende, Avenue de Monte-Carlo, Avenue des Spélugues, Avenue Princesse Grace (southbound route between access to Place Anne-Marie Campora and No. 39) and Boulevard Louis II from 11pm on 9 December to 12pm on 10 December.

Pedestrian traffic

On 10 December, pedestrians will not be able to use the Rampe Major from 10am to 12pm and the pedestrian crossings between Place d'Armes, Avenue de la Porte Neuve and the top of Avenue du Port from 10.30am to 11.30am.

CAM bus traffic

On 10 December, from the start of the service until 12.00/12.30pm, the following stops will not be served:

Line 1 (Monaco-Ville - Saint Roman)
• Outbound > 'Place d'Armes', 'Princesse Stéphanie', 'Stade Nautique', 'Princesse Antoinette', 'Kennedy', 'Auditorium Rainier III', 'Portier', 'Spélugues', 'Citronniers' and 'Place du Casino'.
• Return > 'Monte-Carlo', 'Square Beaumarchais', 'Ostende', 'Place Sainte Dévote' and 'Princesse Florestine'.

Line 2 (Monaco-Ville - Jardin Exotique)
• Outbound > 'Place d'Armes', 'Princesse Stéphanie', 'Stade Nautique', 'Princesse Antoinette', 'Ostende', 'Terrasses du Casino' and 'Square Beaumarchais
• Return > 'Monte-Carlo', 'Square Beaumarchais', 'Ostende', 'Place Sainte Dévote' and 'Princesse Florestine'.

Line 3 (Fontvieille - Hector Otto)
• Outbound > 'Stade Nautique', 'Princesse Antoinette', 'Place Sainte Dévote' and 'Princesse Florestine'.
• Return > 'Place d'Armes' and 'Princesse Stéphanie'.

Line 4 (Fontvieille - Saint Roman)
• Outbound > No change.
• Return > 'Place d'Armes' and 'Princesse Stéphanie'.

Line 5 ('Hospital' - 'Larvotto')
• Outbound > 'Place du Casino', 'Spélugues', 'Portier', 'Grimaldi Forum', 'Plages', 'Sea Club' and 'Larvotto'.
• Return > 'Larvotto', 'Sea Club', 'Plages', 'Grimaldi Forum-Villa Sauber', 'Portier', 'Spélugues' and 'Citronniers'.

Line 6 (Fontvieille - Larvotto)
> Service suspended until 12/12.30.

Line 7 (Place d'Armes - Crovetto)
> Service will be suspended on 10 December.
