Monegasque Bus Company awarded " Monaco Welcome Certified " label

The Monegasque Bus Company (CAM) has been awarded the Monaco Welcome Certified label in recognition of the quality of welcome offered to users on board buses and in its office.

The achievement is the result of a common desire on the part of CAM and the Prince’s Government to improve the quality of welcome by using mystery shoppers to test the Principality’s bus network.

Monaco Welcome certification is a voluntary process, so CAM first raised awareness among all of its employees of the importance of offering a warm welcome on buses and in the office, then completed a self-assessment questionnaire tailored to its area of business.

Having been deemed eligible following this self-assessment exercise, CAM was the subject of several mystery shopper visits, which were carried out both in the sales office at 3 Avenue Président J.F. Kennedy and on the six bus routes serving the Principality. These visits were carried out by an independent French agency which specialises in this field.

During the visits, mystery shoppers assessed the quality of the welcome offered by drivers and their ability to make themselves understood when dealing with non-French-speaking passengers. Testers also evaluated the cleanliness and general condition of the buses, bus stops and sales office premises, and checked that automatic ticket machines were in good working order.

The results obtained from these mystery shopper visits led to CAM being awarded the Monaco Welcome Certified label for a period of three years. A monitoring and follow-up visit will be scheduled in around 10 months’ time.
