Diplomacy – Accreditation of Ambassadors from Togo and the European Union
On Tuesday 22 March 2016, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation welcomed
H.E. Mr Calixte Batossie Madjoulba*, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Togolese Republic, and H.E. Ms Maria Francesca Spatolisano**, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the European Union to Monaco, who presented their credentials to H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince during the morning.
An official lunch was organised at the Hotel Hermitage, hosted by Mr Gilles Tonelli, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
* A graduate of the first level of advanced military education at the Ecole d’Etat-major in Compiègne, France, H.E. Mr Calixte Batossie Madjoulba joined the Togolese Armed Forces in 1993 where he occupied the posts of Head of the Auto and Multiservice Division, Deputy Director, then Director. In 2004, he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration and was subsequently appointed Consul and Minister Counsellor at the Embassy of Togo in Paris.
** H.E. Ms Maria Francesca Spatolisano, a civil servant at the European Commission since 1985, became First Councillor for Economic Affairs and Trade Policy in Washington in 1995. She was appointed Deputy Permanent Representative of the European Union to the OECD in Paris in 2001, then Head of the Economic Section at the European Union’s delegation to the United Nations in 2006. She was involved in negotiations on international trade, including as part of the Uruguay Round (GATT) and the Doha Development Agenda (WTO).
