Monaco participates in Venice Commission (European Commission for Democracy through Law)

The Venice Commission is an advisory body on constitutional law, established within the framework of the Council of Europe. It has its headquarters in Venice and is made up of independent experts drawn from all member states as well as observer states from all continents.

Following the appointment of Mr Laurent Anselmi as Secretary of Justice for the Principality of Monaco, the role of the Principality’s representative to the Commission has been entrusted to Professor Bertrand Mathieu.

Accompanied by Mr Christophe Sosso, who is the substitute member for the Principality, Professor Mathieu took part in the 113^th Plenary Session of the Venice Commission, held on 8 and 9 December in Venice.

During this session, an interview took place with Mr Gianni Buquicchio, President of the Commission, in which the items on the agenda for the session were discussed.

The next session will be held on 16 and 17 March 2018.
