2019 Main Baccalaureate Examination Round and BTS - The Principality Confirms the High Quality of its Education System

In the 2019 baccalaureate, the Principality's high school students obtained excellent results in the main round of this examination. 

For all the options (general, technological and professional), an overall success rate of 96.8% was recorded, with 321 candidates awarded honours among the 421 successful candidates, out of a total of 435, namely: 

  • 75 passes with the highest honours, i.e. 18% of the successful candidates
  • 123 passes with high honours, i.e. 29.2% of the successful candidates
  • 123 passes with honours, i.e. 29.2% of the successful candidates.

In the general baccalaureate, 96.0% of the students at the Lycée Albert 1er and the Lycée François d'Assise - Nicolas Barré passed their exams.  Of the 276 candidates taking these options, 265 obtained the baccalaureate, 206 of whom passed with honours, namely:

  • 67 passes with the highest honours, i.e. 25.3% of the successful candidates
  • 73 passes with high honours, i.e. 27.5% of the successful candidates
  • 66 passes with honours, i.e. 25.3% of the successful candidates taking these options

In the technology options, 68 of the 69 candidates (98.5%) from the Lycée Albert 1er and Monaco's Vocational and Catering School (Lycée Technique et Hôtelier de Monaco) passed their exams, 48 of them with honours:  22 with high honours (32% of the successful candidates) and 26 passes with honours (38% of the successful candidates).

Finally, with regard to the professional options, 97.8% of candidates in the hotel, industrial and tertiary sectors also passed their exams, i.e. 88 passes out of 90 candidates, with 67 passes with honours, namely:

  • 8 passes with the highest honours, i.e. 9.1% of the successful candidates taking these options
  • 28 passes with high honours, i.e. 31.8% of the successful candidates taking these options
  • 31 passes with honours, i.e. 35.2% of the successful candidates taking these options

Students in the Principality taking the BTS examinations also obtained excellent results, with an overall success rate of 95.8%, distributed as follows:

  • 100% success rate for the 24 candidates from the Lycée Albert 1er who took the BTS in Assistant Manager and Accounting Management.
  • 91.7% success rate for students from Monaco's Vocational and Catering School (Lycée Technique et Hôtelier de Monaco) who took the Hotel Industry BTS.

These performances bear witness to the outstanding commitment of the entire educational community of State schools and private secondary schools under contract in the Principality with regard to the daily support it provides to its students.

This success, which is a credit to the Principality, is also the result of the total involvement of the Department of Education, Youth and Sport in maintaining the excellence of the school system in the Principality.
