New packaging return campaign
Carrefour Fontvieille has increased its range of sustainable packaging as part of its ongoing partnership with the Prince Albert II Foundation (FPA2), BeMed (Beyond Plastic Med) and the Mission for Energy Transition (MTE) to reduce its use of packaging.
Following a successful initiative led in July 2024, with the sale of 324 reusable packaging items, Carrefour is leading a new awareness campaign for customers.
Several areas of the supermarket* are included in the event and four tills (Numbers 21, 22, 23 and 24) will accept returns.
The brand aims to reduce the amount of waste produced and encourage customers to stop using throwaway packaging in favour of reusable solutions.
The initiative reflects current challenges in the fight against plastic pollution and is at the heart of the Prince’s Government's “Zero single-use plastic waste by 2030” policy.
The campaign will begin on Monday 2 June, ahead of World Environment Day and the United Nations Ocean Conference, and run for one month.
Like the 24 other MaConsigne partner outlets, Carrefour gives you the power to change things.
If you, like many other people, refuse single-use packaging, download the free app and make MaConsigne a regular spending habit.
It’s up to you!
• *Areas of the supermarket taking part in the initiative: the rotisserie and catering counters, the salad bar and self-service fridge (with pre-prepared salads) and the Asian takeaway counter.
