Get ready for European Week for Waste Reduction !
From 16 to 24 November, Monaco, alongside a number of other countries, is getting involved in the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR), based around the core theme of waste education and communication.
The event, which aims to promote, over the course of a single week, sustainable resource management awareness activities to help achieve a target of zero waste, was presented to the press today.
A number of representatives from the public and private sectors are taking part in this major waste reduction movement and will also show that “the best waste is the waste that is not produced”.
As Valérie Davenet, Director of the Department of the Environment, highlighted: “the Prince’s Government has set a target of introducing a zero single-use plastic waste policy by 2030. We are all agents of this change and we can all find in this a way to live a better life, protecting our planet.”
During EWWR, the various stakeholders involved in the Principality will be offering lectures, films, workshops, an exhibition, waste collection, concerts, stands, games, and fashion and art creations associated with this eco-friendly theme. To date, 48 activities have been officially adopted as part of EWWR, involving 60 participants in addition to the 20-strong Stars’n’Bars Green Team.
Get ready for this week focused on the 3Rs – reduce, reuse, recycle – organised in Monaco at the initiative of Stars’n’Bars and implemented with support from the Department of the Environment.
