Basketball team A.S. Monaco Basket (Pro A) are travelling to the Department of Ain in France today to compete against JL Bourg-en-Bresse (Pro B) in the last 32 of the Coupe de France Basketball Cup.

Since their rise to National level in Pro B, then from Pro B to Pro A, (2013-2015), JL Bourg have been coached by the former trainer of A.S. Monaco, Savo Vucevic.  Last season, the team had the largest budget of the Pro B championship.  This year, they will undoubtedly aim for promotion to Pro A, thanks to their renowned coach and the determination of their players.

The Roca team, who won all eight of their preparatory pre-season matches, will arrive directly from Nantes, without travelling via Monaco, and will play their third match in four days.

The return on this occasion of French international player Yakuba Ouattara, who was injured in the third match of the play-offs against ASVEL last season, is eagerly awaited. Yakouba Ouattara will be back after some very successful play at the Appart City Cup in Nantes, which was won by the Roca Team, who successively beat ASVEL, winners of the 2015-2016 championship, and Valencia, an experienced Spanish team accustomed to playing in European Cup matches.

A place in the last 16 of the Coupe de France will be at stake this evening, at 8 p.m.
