Dismantling of the crane at the Tour Elsa and Tour Réséda buildings from 11 to 22 March 2024

Construction of the Elsa and Réséda buildings, two major projects of the National Housing Plan for Monegasques, are now complete. The imposing – and essential – 127.9-metre crane used for the building process will be dismantled between 11 and 22 March 2024.

The highest crane currently in use in the Principality is anchored to the façade of the Réséda building at the 14th floor, 24th floor and 29th floor.

Dismantling such equipment requires special measures. A telescoping cage will be installed so that the crane can ‘dismantle itself” and mobile cranes will be installed on Boulevard d’Italie.

These operations require the total or partial closure of Boulevard d’Italie to the right of the Réséda building. The closures are scheduled at night to reduce impact on traffic but also to maintain a safety perimeter in accordance with the detailed schedule, attached.

- Nights, from 12 to 14 March, from 8 pm to 6 am: Boulevard d’Italie closed travelling from Monaco to Roquebrune-Cap-Martin and Menton; traffic will be diverted to Avenue de Saint Roman and Boulevard du Ténao for this direction.

- Nights, from 14 to 15 March and from 18 to 21 March, from 8 pm to 6 am: Boulevard d’Italie will be closed in both directions; traffic will be diverted to Avenue de Saint Roman and Boulevard du Ténao, where both lanes will remain open to continue in this direction.

- Night of 21 to 22 March, from 8 pm to 6 am: Boulevard d’Italie will be closed to traffic travelling from Monaco to Menton; traffic will be diverted to Avenue de Saint Roman and Boulevard du Ténao to continue in this direction.

These out-of-the-ordinary operations may be disruptive and generate noise, caused by the dismantling of metal parts and their removal with semi-trailer trucks.
As a precaution, a safety perimeter will be installed, and staff will be present on site. Pedestrians are asked to avoid the area. During the dismantling process, local residents must keep their windows closed and not go out on balconies which face the crane.
