Reception in Brussels to mark anniversary of H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince’s accession
On 30 June, H.E. Mrs Sophie Thevenoux, Monaco’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and Head of Monaco’s Mission to the European Union, and Mr Marc Thevenoux celebrated the anniversary of the accession of H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince by hosting a reception in the gardens of their residence in Brussels, to which nearly 350 guests were invited.
Among those attending the reception were around 60 ambassadors from nations friendly to the Principality, including several permanent representatives of European Union member states, and officials from European institutions - the European External Action Service, the European Commission, the European Parliament and the European Council.
H.R.H. Princess Léa of Belgium honoured the event with her presence, as did H.I. & R.H. Archduchess Anna-Gabriele of Austria and T.S.H. the Prince and Princess of Ligne. Also present among the numerous guests were H.E. Rev Giacinto Berloco, Apostolic Nuncio, and H.E. Mr Rudy Huygelen, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Chief of Protocol, as well as several provincial governors, Monaco’s consuls and many leaders from the worlds of economy, finance and media in Belgium.
The atmosphere at the reception was extremely cordial, and the event afforded all participants an opportunity to offer their best wishes for the health and happiness of H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince and his family.
