Monaco Celebrates World Wildlife Day at the UN
On the occasion of World Wildlife Day on Tuesday 3 March, H.E. Ms. Isabelle Picco, Permanent Representative of Monaco to the United Nations, organised an event with the explorer Roie Galitz, a member of the New York Explorers Club.
In her speech, the Ambassador stated that "By celebrating the planet's biodiversity, we are celebrating our own life on Earth. While it is our duty to work to preserve the planet for future generations, it is also an act of our survival instinct as humans."
Photos and videos of Svalbard polar bears, Antarctic penguins and many other species taken by the explorer were a great success with the participants, among whom were 100 children from two New York City schools, who had gathered in the UN Trusteeship Council chamber.
