International Expo - Astana 2017 Monaco Inter Expo Travels to Astana

The Monaco Inter Expo team travelled to Astana, in the Republic of Kazakhstan, from 25 October to 4 November, in connection with Monaco's forthcoming participation in the Astana 2017 International Expo.

This trip was an opportunity to assess the progress of work on the expo site and visit the plot that will house Monaco's Pavilion.  The Simmetrico group, which won the competition for the project, was present to help the MIE with a view to submitting the preliminary project.

This visit was also an opportunity to initiate a number of legal and logistical arrangements in Kazakhstan, prior to the Expo.

The theme of Monaco's Pavilion, "Reflecting the Future," was also submitted to the organisers.

Mr. Julien Cellario, Commissioner General of Monaco's Pavilion, met with members of the organisation, including Mr. Alisher Pirmetov, Vice-President of the Council of Finance and Budgetary Planning and Mr. Akhmetzhan Yessimov, President of the Board of Directors of the Astana EXPO-2017 limited company, to whom he expressed Monaco's wish to present an innovative pavilion to the visitors.

To date, Monaco is one of the first countries to have finalised its participation process in the Expo 2017.
