H.E. Ms. Isabelle Berro-Amadeï Officer of the National Order of the Legion of Honour
On Friday 21 October, in Berlin, at the Chancellery of the Embassy of France in Germany, H.E. Mr. Philippe Etienne, Ambassador of France to Germany, presented the insignia of Officer of the National Order of the Legion of Honour to H.E. Ms. Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Ambassador of Monaco to Germany.
In his speech, H.E. Mr. Etienne retraced the milestones of the Ambassador's professional life, referring in particular to "a legal career marked by excellence" and "unanimously recognised qualities as a lawyer." He recalled that H.E. Ms. Berro-Amadeï was the first Monegasque magistrate to carry out the duties of a judge, and then of Section President at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg from 2006 to 2015.
Ambassador Etienne also emphasised the links that have existed between H.E. Ms. Berro-Amadeï and France since her studies at the University of Nice and the National School of the Judiciary. He also highlighted her major involvement as a reporting judge for French affairs in Strasbourg and her close connection "with French institutions such as the Constitutional Council and the Council of State." Finally, H.E. Mr. Etienne thanked H.E. Ms. Berro-Amadeï for her constant, tireless defence of the French language and her promotion of Francophonie.
