A Monegasque delegation, comprised of H.E. Mr. Christophe Steiner, Ambassador to the French Republic, Ms. Valérie Bruell-Melchior, Minister-Counsellor at the Embassy of Monaco in France and Ms. Ludmilla Raconnat-Le-Goff, Secretary General of the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, took part in a round table on combating social fraud in Europe, held on Tuesday 30 July in Paris, at the Senate.

Representatives of Belgium, Estonia, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Spain and the United Kingdom also participated in this round table.  The meeting was held as part of a mission conferred by Mr. Edouard Philippe, Prime Minister of France, upon Ms. Nathalie Goulet, Senator for the Orne and Carole Grandjean, Member of Parliament for Meurthe-et-Moselle, with the aim of assessing the impact of social fraud on public finances and identifying the necessary means to combat this phenomenon.

This meeting was an opportunity for the various delegations to exchange views on the policies and resources implemented by each country.

Thus, the Monegasque delegation recalled that social fraud has no place in the Principality and presented the measures implemented both by Government departments and the Monaco Social Security Funds, which make it possible to combat social contribution fraud (undeclared work and payment of social contributions), social benefit fraud (medical, family and retirement benefits) and social welfare fraud effectively.
