Flag-raising ceremony at the construction site of the new Princess Grace Hospital
On 17 September, H.S.H. attended a flag-raising ceremony at the site of the new Princess Grace Hospital. He was accompanied by Didier Guillaume, Minister of State; Jean-Louis Grinda, Vice President of the National Council (representing Thomas Brezzo, President of the National Council); Céline Caron-Dagioni, Minister of Public Works; the Environment and Urban Development, Christophe Robino; Minister of Health and Social Affairs, Lionel Beffre; Minister of the Interior, Benoite de Sevelinges; Director of the Princess Grace Hospital, Jean-Luc Nguyen; Director of Public Works, Julien Galland; Project Director for Vinci and the architect Vincent Chaigneau.
This ceremony, held at the highest point of the building, is a tradition in the building sector. It marks the achievement of a pivotal step in the construction of the new hospital: “The completion of Phase 1 construction work paves the way for 75% of the hospital-related activities of the future establishment, a public facility of the utmost importance for the future of the Principality, for Monegasques and residents, as well as neighbouring communities”, recalled Céline Caron-Dagioni, who also mentioned that since 2015, this phase of construction has called for 40,000 cubic metres of concrete, 8,000 tonnes of steel, and 500,000 hours of work.
