On Monday 1 July, world champion footballer Olivier Giroud visited the Monaco Cardiothoracic Centre in his capacity as Ambassador of the Monaco Humanitarian Collective (MCH).

Following a presentation of the latest news from the MCH (412 children have been operated on since 2008) and its plans for the future, Olivier Giroud met with host families and volunteers from Monaco Red Cross and Rencontres Africaines.  He also met the nursing staff of the Monaco Cardiothoracic Centre (CCM) and the Princess Grace Hospital (CHPG), as well as a representative of the Collège Charles III in the Principality and Ms. Isabelle Rosabrunetto, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Prince's Government.

Olivier Giroud spent a few special moments with little Jinno, an 8-year-old Malagasy boy who recently underwent surgery for a heart defect, and who will return home on 2 July after five weeks in the Principality.

As an MCH Ambassador, Olivier Giroud is also sponsoring two teams from the CCM who will be taking part in the forthcoming Gazelles rally in 2020, sporting the Collective's colours.

Finally, on Friday evening, in Juan-les-Pins, former footballer Eric Roy, the organiser of the World Footvolley Championship, will present Olivier Giroud, who is sponsoring the event this year, with a cheque for EUR 10,000 for the Monaco Humanitarian Collective.

*: As part of the "Au cœur du Collège" ("At the Heart of the School") campaign, in 2018, the 1,200 pupils, teachers and administrative staff of the school joined forces to finance the costs of surgery for a young Malagasy girl, Iorentsoa, raising EUR 20,000, double the amount required.
