Valérie Viora-Puyo appointed Director General of the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs

“Mindful of the Administration’s efforts to modernise, I am paying particular attention to the people aspect,” said Ms Viora-Puyo.

Valérie Viora-Puyo, Director of the Civil Service Human Resources and Training Department, has been appointed Director General of the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs as of 12 March 2018. Ms Viora-Puyo takes over from Virginie Cotta. 

A graduate of the Nice Sophia-Antipolis École Supérieure de Commerce et d'Administration des Entreprises, Valérie Viora-Puyo joined the Administration in 1987 as part of the Ministry of the Interior Secretariat. She worked in the Ministry of Public Works and Social Affairs Secretariat from 1990 to 1995. 

In 1995 she returned to the Ministry of the Interior Secretariat where she held a number of posts before being appointed Technical Advisor. 

She became Secretary-General of the National Council in 2004, then Director of the Human Resources and Training Department in 2010, acting as the principal point of contact for nearly 3,500 civil servants and public sector employees.
