Monaco Fire and Emergency Service crew gathered today at the Place du Campanin in Fontvieille for a ceremonial presentation of helmets to four young recruits. The ceremony, led by Lieutenant-Colonel Maxime Yvrard, Chief of Service, was attended by Mr Lionel Beffre, Minister of the Interior, Colonel Tony Varo, Superior Commander of the Public Force, Mr Christophe Prat, Director General of the Ministry of the Interior, Lieutenant-Colonel Martial Pied, Head of the Palace Guards, and Father Christian Venard, Chaplain of the Public Force, who blessed the helmets.

The recruits have joined the 'Sergeant Henri Campredon' class, named in honour of the brave firefighter who died in the line of duty on 13 January 1979, aged 50. Sergeant Henri Campredon's family attended the ceremony.

The recruits were presented with their service helmets by their respective sponsors, marking the end of a five-month training programme. The ceremony symbolises both their commitment and entry into the service. Furthermore, it demonstrates the strong bond that now unites them with their fellow service members, whom they work alongside to protect and safeguard people and property in the Principality and neighbouring communities.

They will uphold the service's motto: ‘Courage, Devotion, Sacrifice’, with pride and dignity.
