"The Forbidden City in Monaco" Exhibition is Presented in the United States
On the occasion of the Chinese New Year, the New York office of Monaco Tourist and Convention Authority held a private dinner to announce the Grimaldi Forum's summer exhibition, "The Forbidden City in Monaco - Life at the Court of the Emperors and Empresses of China," which will take place from 14 July to 10 September.
This event, attended by twenty-five journalists, was held on 25 January in the Hakkasan gastronomic Chinese restaurant in New York, which was founded by the renowned Michelin-starred chef Alan Yau, who also created the Song Qi restaurant in Monaco.
The evening began with a cocktail party and an introduction from Ms. Cindy Hoddeson, Director of Monaco Tourist and Convention Authority's North American office, and the screening of a promotional video featuring an interview with Ms. Sylvie Biancheri, Director General of the Grimaldi Forum.
Ms. Willow Hai Chang, Director of the China Institute Gallery in New York, was asked to give a presentation, in which she shared her expert knowledge of the tradition of the Chinese New Year and the history of the Forbidden City, in connection with the exhibition in Monaco.
The guests included independent journalists, bloggers, and editors of prestigious American publications such as the New York Times, Forbes, Bon Appétit, AFAR, USA Today, Resident Magazine, Cottages & Gardens, Successful Meetings and Incentive Magazine.
The presentation of the exhibition was a success, and was an opportunity to promote Asian culture and gastronomy in the Principality.
