Handiplage and Audioplage open for 2018 season
Since 1 July, the Handiplage and Audioplage site has been welcoming disabled visitors and those with reduced mobility to Larvotto beach to enable them to enjoy swimming in the sea. The official opening was held on Tuesday 3 July 2018, in the presence of Véronique Charlot, Director of Social Welfare and Social Services, Elodie Koukoui and Michaël Fiori, responsible for accessibility and disability issues in the Department of Social Welfare and Social Services, Françoise Ragazzoni, President of the Soroptimist International Club, and representatives of the elected assemblies.
The Handiplage and Audioplage site is the result of a partnership between the Prince’s Government and the Soroptimist International Club of Monaco. It is free and accessible to all from 2 July to 2 September 2018. There is no need to book or follow any particular procedures.
The site represents:
- 18 years of operation
- 600 assisted swims in 2017
- specially adapted facilities and equipment
- 4 Handiplage attendants to assist users
- a MOBI’BUS shuttle service to Larvotto
