Trusted Provider certification ceremony

On Tuesday 13 September, City Hall, the Police Department, the Business Development Agency, the Human Resources and Training Department, and the Digital Services Department were officially certified as Trusted Providers for issuing electronic signatures and/or electronic stamps, at a ceremony attended by Patrice CELLARIO, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Trusted Services Oversight Committee.

This certification recognises the diligent efforts of the various departments involved in this approach, which is necessary to ensure that the process of creating and issuing an electronic signature is presumed to be reliable and guarantees the signatory’s identity.

The trusted services certified help to consolidate and enhance the digital services ecosystem established by the Digital Transition Office. As a result, not only businesses but also residents and Monegasque nationals, via their digital identity, are able to use electronic signatures for all acts of civil life, with confidence.

As provided by Act No. 1,383 of 2 August 2011 for a digital Principality, amended in late 2019, the practice of officially certifying Trusted Providers in the Principality serves to improve users’ confidence in the digital services they offer. Certification is awarded by the Monaco Cyber Security Agency, the Principality's supervisory body for these matters, following an audit by a compliance assessment body accredited by COFRAC (the French accreditation committee).
