H.E. Mr Pierre Dartout took part in the 2nd Summit of the European Political Community (EPC) in Chișinău, Moldova, which brought together 47 Heads of State and Government, along with the Presidents of the European Commission and of the European Parliament, the President of the European Council and High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
The Minister of State was accompanied by H.E. Mr Frédéric Labarrere, Ambassador, Head of the Mission of Monaco to the European Union and Mrs Isabelle Costa, High Commissioner for European Affairs.
This Summit took place at Château Mimi, 20 km from the Ukrainian border, in the presence of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and was an opportunity for European leaders to reaffirm their unity and support in favour of peace.
Discussions focused more specifically on energy, security, hybrid threats and mobility and connectivity issues.
This high-level international meeting was an opportunity for H.E. Mr Dartout to meet with many European leaders, and to address, in particular, the challenges of negotiating an association agreement between Monaco and the European Union.
The Minister of State declared: “Monaco's presence among the 47 countries that responded to Moldova's invitation is testimony to our commitment to serving peace, freedom and security in Europe”.
The next Summit will be held in Granada, under the Spanish presidency, on October 5 2023.
