Some years ago, the Speranza-Albert II Centre, part of the Department of Health Affairs (DASA), established a partnership with the Principality’s chefs, who come every year to lead a food workshop.

To celebrate Shrove Tuesday, chef Joël Garault from Monaco’s Hotel Hermitage, who was recently elected President of the Monaco Goûts et Saveurs association, went to the centre to unveil the secrets of Crêpes Suzette.

Cooking and baking workshops have always played an important role in the therapeutic activities offered by the day centre. The sensation of taste changes as part of the normal ageing process, and this phenomenon is amplified in those suffering from cognitive impairment. At the Speranza-Albert II Centre, nutrition and the joys of dining are considered as a fundamental part of caring for the patients.
