After six months of exhibition on the artificial island of Yumeshima, the Monaco Pavilion has closed its doors at the World Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai.

With nearly 1.5 million visitors, representing more than 5% of the Expo’s total attendance of almost 28 million people, the Pavilion successfully established its place within this major international event.

This excellent result confirms the public’s strong interest in the Principality at World Expos and demonstrates the success of a space designed as a place of wonder, awareness and knowledge sharing.

Inaugurated on 13 April 2025, the Monaco Pavilion — led by H.E. Mireille Martini, Commissioner General, assisted by Corinne Corradi, Pavilion Director, and Kristina Djordjevic, Deputy Commissioner General — relied on a team of around fifty people from Monaco and Japan to ensure its smooth operation.

Beyond its attendance figures, the Monaco Pavilion primarily reflected the close ties between Monaco and Japan, built on mutual respect and a shared commitment to sustainability.

In this spirit, the Pavilion’s emblematic olive tree — a symbol of peace and resilience — was gifted to the City of Osaka during a ceremony attended by H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and Mr Hideyuki Yokoyama, Mayor of Osaka.

The Monaco Pavilion left a lasting impression through its thoughtful design, warm hospitality and the human connections forged throughout Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai.

An emotional farewell, but also a heartfelt promise of continued friendship and cooperation between Monaco and Japan.
