“Locking her up isn’t loving her”: official campaign launch and video competition prize ceremony
The Committee for the Promotion and Protection of Women’s Rights officially launched its new campaign dubbed “Locking her up isn’t loving her” at an evening ceremony held to coincide with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. During the event, organised in collaboration with the Department of Education, Youth and Sport, prizes were also presented to the winners of the competition for young people to make a short film highlighting the issue of violence against women.
The evening took place on 25 November at the Lycée Rainier III, and was attended by H.E. Mr Christophe Mirmand, Government Ministers, senior Monegasque officials, representatives of Government agencies and the Committee’s member associations, along with the pupils who took part in the competition and their parents. In his address, the Minister of State praised “the strong commitment shown by the authorities, Government departments, and associations in the fight to eliminate violence against women.”
The judging panel, made up of representatives from various Monegasque institutions, awarded the jury prize to Maya Pezin and Matilda Gazanion, while the young people’s prize, selected by the Youth Advisory Committee, went to Mathilde Cracknell.
You can watch all of the videos made by the pupils on the Committee’s Instagram page.
