A ceremony to present Institute of Nurse Training (IFSI) diplomas to the class of 2017–2020 and Institute of Care Assistant Training (IFAS) diplomas to the class of 2019–2020 recently took place. The ceremony was attended by H.R.H. the Princess of Hanover and Tony Varo, Supreme Commander of the Military Force.

Of the 30 nursing students selected, 21 completed the course and were awarded the diploma, including Elisa Delattre, who was the top student with an average mark of 16.65 out of 20.

The 2017–2020 class of new nurses had chosen Colonel Tony Varo as their sponsor on account of his commitment to nurse training. He has been involved in nurse training projects as Chief of the Monaco Fire and Emergency Service and then in his capacity as Supreme Commander of the Military Force.

The students completed several projects during their three years of study:

-              Basic first-aid training

-              Level 1 professional first-aid training (PSE1) in partnership with the Monaco Red Cross

-              Emergency first-aid training day

-              Practical extrication workshops

-              Participation in emergency planning lessons

Of the 15 students in the 2019–2020 care assistant class, 10 were presented to the assessment board, and nine were awarded the diploma. Alexandra Limon was the top student.
