On Monday 23 May, a plenary session of the Strategic Council for Attractiveness was held. The session was chaired by the Minister of State, Pierre DARTOUT, and attended by representatives from the Government and many institutional and business stakeholders from the Principality.

Accompanied by the Country Chief Officer for Attractiveness, Frédéric GENTA, who was recently appointed Secretary-General of the Strategic Council, the Minister of State was keen to highlight the extent to which attractiveness is vital to the Principality’s development and the preservation of its economic and social model. It places residents, investors, businesses, employees and tourists at the heart of the Government’s concerns.

During these discussions, the Minister of State emphasised the interministerial approach to the implementation of this policy, and the importance of each ministry’s role.

The Principality, which enjoys considerable advantages, seeks to act with ambition and set an example in the face of environmental and digital challenges, and it must continue to develop an attractiveness strategy that is adapted to a rapidly changing world.

In this context, the Government is giving a fresh boost to its attractiveness policy, as part of which it is reviving the meetings of the Strategic Council, a key partner in implementing this strategy. The Council will meet periodically for plenary sessions or thematic committees, and will continue to bring together the many public and private organisations who represent Monaco’s economic, social and cultural vitality. It will, in this way, contribute to the development of the attractiveness strategy.

The Minister of State reiterated the Prince’s Government’s determination to draw on support from all local and international stakeholders to tackle these challenges.

Attractiveness is everyone’s business. Our goal is to create real momentum in promoting attractiveness, by bringing together all of the ministries and organisations involved. The Strategic Council for Attractiveness has a strategic role to play here,” emphasised the Minister of State.

Attractiveness is the foundation and the driver of our economy. The Strategic Council is a strong advantage, which Monaco must draw on in order to modernise and adapt to a post-COVID world, one where attracting residents, investors and businesses is essential,” added the Country Chief Officer for Attractiveness and the Digital Transition.
